The Design for Business Innovation Grant (DBIG) helps enterprises to embark on a specific design project that results in an innovative design solution, as a first step towards a more design-driven business. It supports up to 50% of the following consultancy fees within the full design value chain (excluding production). Companies can choose Design Consultancy services, in addition to one or more of the other services in (b) to (f).

Eligible Applicants
The Enterprise Applicant must be a "live" business or company registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority with a physical presence in Singapore and with at least 30% local ownership.
All Consultants must be "live" businesses or companies registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority providing the following services relating to the whole product/service design innovation development process (excluding production):

b) Consumer-centric Design Research
c) Business Consultancy
d) Innovation Consultancy
e) Design Prototyping
f) Design IP Registration
Assessment Criteria
- Project Assessment (Concept and Merit of Proposal):
- Project must involve the design and development of new or better products or services resulting in innovation, differentiation and/or new intellectual property.
- Project must involve the improvement of processes, practices and operations.
- Proposed design must be original.
- Itemised Project Budget .

- Staff Strength
- Sales Turnover and Profits for the past three years.
- Projected Sales Turnover and Profits for the next three years.

The Design for Business Innovation Grant (DBIG) is a co-funding financial incentive that supports enterprises in taking the first step for a more design-driven business, with the following objectives:
- To encourage and support Singapore Enterprises towards a more Design-driven business.
- To improve the performance of Enterprises using good Design strategically for Business Competitive Advantage.
- To encourage Designers to be more pro-active in engaging Singapore Enterprises to adopt Design Innovation.
DBIG offers support for a wider range of qualifying services within the full design value chain. Qualifying services include the following, but exclude production costs:
- Consumer-centric Design Research
- Business Consultancy
- Innovation Consultancy
- Design Prototyping
- Design Consultancy
- Design IP Registration
DBIG requires a joint application by the enterprise and the service provider to ensure joint commitment by the two parties. The service provider can be an individual company or a consortium providing one or more of the above qualifying services. But it must be led by a Design Consultancy.
